Los Medanos de Coro

The National Park Médanos Coro is located in the Falcon state in northwestern Venezuela. It was declared a national park in 1974 and consists of 91,280 acres (42,160 hectares of land and 49,120 of sea surface).

The dunes are started in the city of Coro and extend northward in the direction of the Paraguana peninsula, including the isthmus Médanos. Its landscape is a desert with dunes on the move by the action of the trade winds that blow from east to west.
